Albums
This is kind of complicated because there are probably 25+ complete Scott Beckwith releases out there but I’ve never been on a label. So it’s not linear, “release” is a relative term, and creatively they’re all over the place. I released my first on cassette in 1991. Sometimes three versions of a song are on three different albums, sometimes the same version made it into three different collections. My songwriting mentor told me to write every day, so I did. He told me this when I was 19, and now there are somewhere near 1500 finished songs and literally thousands of ideas and random rhymes. This is even before we start factoring in the instrumental stuff. In 2016 I compiled, released, and re-released an album a month on two online sites, one which folded and the other which reformatted. I knew there’d be glitches; my era was of physical media, and that boat sailed long ago, probably not too far after mine. But definitive works are happening and I have help getting them where & how they need to be to do what they’re supposed to - not make me out as anything I’m not, just to find their way into the soundtracks of other peoples’ lives, as other peoples’ music and songs have done for mine. They have helped give my life a soundtrack. If anything I can do can be that in some small way, all the time and craft have been worth it. Here’s what I know:
